Attorney Debra D. Rainey Receives First Judicial District
Pro Bono Publico Award for Criminal Defense
Debra Rainey received the Pro Bono Publico Award for Criminal Litigation at a ceremony last night sponsored by the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania.
The Publico Award is the highest accolade that the Board of Judges can bestow upon an attorney for public service. There are over a thousand nominees and Ms. Rainey's continued commitment to public service was recognized along with her individual efforts in helping pro bono clients in the Philadelphia Community. Ms. Rainey continues to be recognized by the First Judicial District for her continued and untiring Pro-Bono work. She has been honored by the First Judicial District with the following awards:
The Judges of the First Judicial District recognize that pro bono service is an important and meaningful way of ensuring justice for the citizens of Philadelphia. The First Judicial District’s Pro Bono Committee acknowledge attorneys who provide pro bono services to litigants in Philadelphia Courts by publishing an annual Pro Bono Roll of Honor.

Within a short 5 months after opening her solo office in Philadelphia, Debra D. Rainey, Esq. was honored by Philadelphia Law Works/Philadelphia VIP with its coveted CHANCELLOR'S AWARD in an Awards Ceremony that was held today in The Ceremonial Courtroom of City Hall. VIP’s 2009 Awards Ceremony honored Outstanding Volunteers in 2008 and even though Ms. Rainey’s Law Office had only been open for 5 months, she found time to give back by providing pro-bono legal services to the clients of VIP.
Philadelphia VIP's mission is to promote equal justice for the poor by providing civil legal services not otherwise available, collaborating with other legal services organizations and promoting a culture of volunteerism by educating and exposing attorneys and law students to issues of poverty.
